The STory
After years of working in a fast-paced marketing agency in Paris, I reached a point many know too well: constant deadlines, endless screens, and the feeling of being creatively exhausted. What started as a short break turned into a much bigger decision — I quit my job, packed a bag, and left Europe in search of inspiration, clarity, and joy.
Indonesia became the place where everything slowed down. Where days felt lighter again, creativity returned naturally, and the simple beauty of everyday life stood in the foreground.
Where it all began
While traveling through Bali and Lombok, I discovered studded bags at small local markets. They immediately stood out to me — bold yet effortless, each one with its own character.
I brought a few of these bags back to Germany, originally just for myself and friends. But people kept asking about them, wanting one of their own. That’s when I realized these bags deserved a place beyond my travels.
This was the beginning of the Bali Studded Bag — and the idea to bring these pieces to Europe through Mae Label.
Mae Label Today
What started with one bag slowly grew into a collection.
After the Bali Studded Bag came the Nusa Bag, followed by simpler, everyday styles like the Nova Tote Bag and the City Tote Bag — designed for daily life, but inspired by travel.
Mae Label is my way of bringing a feeling of freedom, ease, and intention into everyday essentials. Pieces that carry stories, not just belongings.
